Maybe

I’m torn between desire and care.

Desire to see you waiting for me at the station in the wee hours of the morning, with even the sun yet to spy on us, and to ride home hugging you on the wide empty streets with the moonlight and stars for company.. But another self forbids me from waking you up; I know today is going to be another hectic day for you after numerous others and with many more to come..

I know you’re too. Torn between wanting to see me and yet having to succumb to the responsibilities weighing down on your eyelids; I know the fight inside you to be with me every day, even on the days when you’re not..

I know. Which is why I’m not going to wake you up at 4:00 like I promised. Today I’ll fight for once, take a cab and let you sleep.

Maybe this is what love is??

No.

I know it is.

In The Depth Of Your Eyes

Drench me in the silent

Depth of your eyes,

Pull me close, envelop me

In your white lies,

I care not if I am as beautiful

As you claim, nor surmise

That you speak the truth

In sultry disguise;

Just take me along –

Let each sunrise

Begin bright and burning

In the afterglow of a paradise

Found in each other’s arms,

Get lost in the spiral highs

Of desire twirling out of reach

As smoky screens of madness arise

And blankets of passion

Engulf my trembling sighs;

My love, let me live an eternity

In the depth of your eyes..

Lost Ashore

The waves that wash at your feet

Are the same that wet mine

Yet here we stand, a sea apart,

Chasms of thoughts and time;

The flesh that once tingled

As you cupped and caressed

Retains imprints of your touch

Brandings of love professed

The same breeze that brushes your face

Searches through my locks of hair

For secrets left by your breath

Sweet whispers of desire

I search within you for laughter

The wanton mirth of old

Your lips try, your eyes lie

As words fall dead and cold

The sun that warms your skin

Is the same that scalds mine

The same earth lies beneath our soles

The restless sands of time

Maybe some day we’ll set sail

Leave the shore of our memories

And reach each other among the waves

In the trembling turn of the seas.
