Broken panes

Of a mansion still

Welcome in light

At its window sill

Just as it has

O’er the years

Through dreams and cheers

Love and tears;

Chills and drags,

A rainy haze

Climbers, blooms

And simmering days

Weathered walls

And crumbling towers

Parched and cooled

By fitful showers..

Smiling at me

Stand ageing friends three

Autumn leaves

And the old man-

A wayward thinker hiding behind the facade of necessary courtesies
