Pretty In Pink

An aunt of mine had a tiny garden tucked away in a corner of her balcony/terrace with flowerpots filled with different shades of these flowers – pink, yellow, orange and so forth. I greatly admired the tiny flowers as a child and would often run upstairs when I visited so I could count how many were in bloom. In due course the house was renovated and the balcony closed off. Every time I come across these anywhere, I am reminded of a smaller version of myself playing in a corner of the old red tiled floor, with the flowers keeping me company.
